Outside of a few insane exceptions, we don't.

Like the issue of faith, atheists tend to believe that "worship" is a bad thing, and avoid doing it. It is part of being a skeptic.

Just because we believe we can accomplish things ourselves does not mean we worship ourselves. We don't consider ourselves gods. We're just us, who happen to be able to do things.

Theists accomplish things themselves too, but for some reason, credit some invisible undetectable non-manifesting entity for what they did.
