Big Bang, Mankind and Waking Up

What created the Big Bang?

Where did mankind come from?

How do you wake up in the morning?

    Response

I'm not sure why this batch of questions was asked on an atheist site, as there's no direct connect to the theist/atheist debate. Instead, I have to assume that each is preceded implicitly with, "If there's no God, how do you explain ..."

I do have a blanket response to those sorts of questions.

I don't like to play the game of "answer a hundred-and-one questions that the person could have googled fairly quickly", because it's rhetorical. The moment I answer "how do you explain XYZ", the person is just going to say, "well, then explain pre-XYZ" followed by"well, explain pre-pre-XYZ" ... until we get to a point where current human knowledge ends.

The person then thinks he/she won at that point... somehow.

I cut through this waste of time, and just say "I have no idea. If you have an answer, please provide sufficient scientific justification for it."  I'm sorry, but your invisible-wizard explanation isn't true by default.

There may be some things that we can never know, due to the limitations of our existence. That sucks, but may be the reality of the situation.

Let's go through the questions anyway.

    What created the Big Bang?

I have no idea. If you have an answer, please provide sufficient scientific justification for it.

    Where did mankind come from?

Our species diversified, along with chimpanzees and bonobos, in Africa and middle east areas, about 6-8 million years ago.[1]

Wikipedia isn't a definitive source, but it's a good start as an overview, and for finding primary sources.

How do you wake up in the morning?

In short, and put very loosely, through the day, certain chemicals build up in the brain, which are tied into optics (such as whether it's bright or dark where you are). The building up of these chemical makes you drowsy and prone to want to sleep. Overnight, those chemicals wear off, and you become conscious again. Since we evolved on a planet with a 24-hour cycle of light and dark, our biology is honed for it.

You can look up the "Circadian clock" for more (and better) information.[2].

Scientists have spent plenty of time investigating this.
